So Few to Adopt - So Many to Abuse and Abandon
"Yet another immature female parent drowns her child," the newspaper headline reads, followed by the inside information of all the possible penalties for committing this atrocious deed. Most readers are probably angered and aghast at the idea that person could actually perpetrate such as a cruel crime. And yet, this is not at all uncommon in our country.
We often read in our local document about others who have got also done atrocious things to their children. (Starve them, beat out them and go forth them alone for days.) Each time, we go just a small more than upset. What's happening in our country? How can people go forth babies on the sides of deserted roadstead or flip them into refuse cans? "These people must be punished!" we state to ourselves.
Currently in this country, over 40 couples wait for each baby available for acceptance while more than than 5000 abortions are performed everyday. And yet, people go on to abandon and wound their children. Why? Because we dwell in a society that claps family-planning choices, prepared childbearing with instantaneous "bonding" and the all of import "bloodlines." Adoption is not perceived of as an alternative.
No 1 Michigan to understand the demands of a couple who for whatever ground make up one's mind not to abort their kid and at the same clip take not to parent this kid born to them. Because what sort of individual would give away their ain "flesh and blood?" "Giving away" one's kid or deciding not to parent a kid to whom one gives birth is not a heartless enactment but rather an enormously hard determination to make.
It is a pick for which little back up is offered and one that most of us, fortunately, will never have got to make. Until we all acknowledge that acceptance is sometimes to only solution and get to offer support to those who happen it necessary to do this choice, babies will go on to be left on doorsills or in some lawsuits will be murdered. So, while efforts to find what the appropriate penalty for this 1 immature mother, I inquire each reader to recognize that we are actually the guilty 1s here. Had this immature female parent approached you for advice or assistance, how would you have got responded?
